Sometimes when you take a close look at the forms found in nature you can’t help but notice the distinct semblance they have to items which we consider to be human inventions.   There is no doubt we have copied nature in order to engineer the machines we have come so accustomed to.

As with any man-made machine, such as an automobile, our musculo-skeletal machinery undergoes repetitive stresses which requires maintenance to diminish the degenerative wear and tear.  What happens when we we neglect our oil changes and leave the tires half inflated?  The stresses break down the engine and the overall efficiency suffers, leading to an eventual breakdown.  In our body we call this osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease.
