When I watch Stella on a walk I’m constantly reminded of how engrossed she is in the moment and the pure enjoyment she is experiencing. Whether she’s chasing down a squirrel or smelling the scent on the breeze it’s obvious that she is living in the moment. In our high stress, fast paced society we tend to engage in escapist activities which dull our awareness of the present moment. We concentrate on our inner commentary or engage in activities which zone us out, which removes us from the present; the right here and now.
Take a lesson from Stella and begin to realize the wonder and awe in every moment. Zone In – Be conscious and aware of the world around you. Whatever activity you are engaged in, whether it is mundane or exhilarating, try to be attentive to the beauty around you by deliberately focusing on each of your senses.
